Several Prospects Benefiting From Extra Experience

Habprospects (J.Tinordi #24 White)

The Montreal Canadiens have recently had several prospects that are looking to benefit from some additional experiences at this time of year. Jarred Tinordi got a taste of the NHL playoffs, Danny Kristo and Tim Bozon made their debut at the World Championships while teammates Darren Dietz and Dalton Thrower are about to take part in the Memorial Cup. Management must be thrilled to see them getting quaility ice at this time of year and hopefully all can use this in the off-season to build off for next year.

 2013 Year End Top 20

Habprospects (D.Kristo)

With the graduation of Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher to the NHL, there's a new #1 as Danny Kristo takes over fresh off signing his 2 year ELC with the Canadiens. Hab fans have to be very happy with what they have seen from the two rookies as they would be 1-2 in the prospect ranking if they hadn't moved up to the NHL full time. Gallagher has been outstanding and is a big part of why the Habs have had so much sucess and the sky is the limit in regards to Galchenyuk, keep this in mind as the rankings won't look very good without these two.

Habs Send 4 to Frozen Four Tournament

Habprospects (D.Kristo, #7 White/Green)

The Montreal Canadiens will have four prospects take part in the Frozen Four Tournament that starts this coming Friday, as Danny Kristo (Senior, North Dakota), Mark MacMillan (Sophmore, North Dakota), Josiah Didier (Sophmore, Denver) and Colin Sullivan (Freshman, Boston College), will all take part in the single elimination games. The experience should be a good one for the newcomer in Sullivan as the other three make return trips, for Kristo it's his final games in the NCAA before it's time to turn pro.

 What's Next for Walsh/Pribyl?

Habs Sign Deitz

The Montreal Canadiens have one less prospect to sign before the June 1st deadline, as the Habs signed Darren Dietz to a three year deal that starts next season. Dietz was a 5th round pick in 2011 that just wrapped up an outstanding regular season in the WHL, he will be Memorial Cup bound later this season but should be a welcome addition to Hamilton in the fall.

Habs NCAA Prospects Gear Up for Playoffs

Habprospects (J.Didier #4 Red)

The Montreal Canadiens have a total of seven prospects currently taking part in the playoffs for their respective conferences in the NCAA, as things got underway over the weekend for some while others will get their feet wet when the weekend rolls around. One would expect management will be keeping a close eye on things as they have two players that must be signed by this coming August 15th or the team will lose their rights, as both Danny Kristo and Dustin Walsh are Seniors so their NCAA careers will end within the next several weeks or sooner.

Habs GM Has Interesting Collection of Assets to Trade

Habprospects (G.Pateryn)

After last year's nightmare of a season the surprising Montreal Canadiens have gotten off to an outstanding start to the season that almost wasn't. The Habs were rewarded though in June for having to sit through such a painful season by getting the 3rd overall pick and a new management team and new coaching staff. So far those rewards are paying off large dividends as Alex Galchenyuk has become the first 18 year old to make the team since the mid '80's and has not disappointed. In addition the new General Manager put his stamp on the team by changing up the culture by adding grit in players like Prust, Bouillon and Armstong. The return of Michel Therrien behind the bench with a new staff has also helped turn things around as the team is playing it's best hockey in some time.

 Leblanc Working Through Tough Season

Habprospects (L.Leblanc)

It's been a tough season for the the Montreal Canadiens 1st round pick in 2009, as Louis Leblanc has not had a lot of things go his way during his second pro season between the NHL lockout, a high ankle sprain that cost him a chunk of the season and playing on one of the youngest teams in the AHL with a new coaching staff and lots of rookies his production is way down from where it was a year ago when he made successful debuts in the AHL and NHL.

 Hamilton Bulldogs Mid-Season Report Card

Habprospects (G. Dumont)

To say it's been a rough year in Hamilton would be a major understatement unfortunately as things have been painful to watch unfold as the youth movement has struggled to find ways to win and injuries to key players weren't able to be replaced as Geoffrion is thought to be out for the season and Palushaj has not played for over a month although he should be back soon. Losing their top veteran forwards has put a great strain on the offense, the recent addition of Joey Tenute should help some as he has looked sharp so far.

Things Heating Up for Danny Kristo

Habprospects (D.Kristo)

NCAA Prospect Update

Fans were up in arms when the Habs 1st picks of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft opted not to sign a pro contract last summer and instead gave notice that he intended to return to North Dakota University for his final season in the NCAA. Flash forward several months and those fans may feel a bit different now that Danny Kristo is tied for 2nd in the NCAA in goals scored and 3rd in the league for points, while the over abundance of rookies in Hamilton would have meant one would be added to the already youthful team.

Hab Prospects at the World Junior Championship

Habprospects (S.Collberg)

It's that time of year again as Boxing day is right around the corner so that means one of the best tournaments in hockey is about to get underway. For the Habs they had four players get the call and all of them from last summers draft class including 3 of the teams first 4 picks as Alex Galchenyuk (Team USA), Sebastian Collberg (Team Sweden), Charles Hudon (Team Canada), and Tim Bozon (Team France) were each selected to represent their respective countries although Bozon opted not to play in the Division I tournament as France will face a lower level of competition. It also appears that Hudon will be out of action with a back injury which is too bad as the experience would have been great but there's always next year. The Habs were a bit unlucky not to have more players in attendance as 2 players from the 2011 draft class would have been on their respective teams if they were born a bit later as both Nathan Beaulieu and Daniel Pribyl recently turned 20 making them too old.
